Our Highlight: Road tripping the Icefields Parkway.
Our Top Hack: Canada is not often thought of as a summer destination but believe us when we say there is plenty to do there when the snow has melted! With seemingly endless mountains there are plenty of hiking adventures as well as kayaking and other summer activities to enjoy too. We’d definitely recommend visiting in the summer months.
Fun Fact: Canada has used approximately 13 different flag designs since 1497 before finally settling on the Maple Leaf!
Our first Canada experience was 5 days in the city of Toronto soaking up its multi cultural vibe & excellent dining scene & then taking a road trip to tick of a bucket list item of ours by visiting the awe-inspiring Niagara Falls.
We returned to Canada & spent some time wandering around Vancouver, a city of trees & skyscrapers. We then took a road trip over to Vancouver Island, spending rainy days walking along the dramatic coastline, taking a tour to watch whales & spending our nights gazing at stars from our tent.
After this we enjoyed a whole summer in Whistler, British Columbia & absolutely loved the lakes, mountains & the endless opportunities for adventure. We were lucky enough to witness the northern lights whilst wild camping & had an epic experience zip-lining over freshly snow covered forest just before we left Whistler. Added to this we also took a road trip from Whistler over to Jasper in Alberta & down the Icefields Parkway to Banff, an experience of a lifetime that we will always remember. Our experience was nothing short of spectacular & we certainly made memories that will last forever. As a destination Canada definitely ticked all our boxes for an adventure!
